You can currently catch Megan Woods living out her wildest dreams as a reporter every weekday morning on Virginia Today. Megan likes to say she was bit by the broadcasting bug all the way back in the 5th grade in her hometown of Farmington Hills, Michigan. For that who school year, Megan delivered the school announcements over the PA system and her passion for broadcasting bloomed from there. Fast forward a few years and Megan interned with some of the industry’s best at Detroit WDIV Local 4, Grand Rapids’ 105.3 Hot FM and WOOD TV 8 all before graduating from Grand Valley State University. Between juggling her studies, Megan also had her own college radio show and became a member of Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. After graduation, Megan reported in Traverse City for Northern Michigan’s News Leader 9&10 and Fox 32 News. While working in Northern Michigan, Megan volunteered with Father Fred and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Then she moved across the country to work as a morning and general assignment reporter in Lafayette, Louisiana, at News 15. Megan is thrilled to get to know Virginia’s Blue Ridge region through people and their stories. If you have a story to share with Megan email her or reach out on Facebook.
