Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

Cadets at Virginia Military Institute will continue practicing today for Saturday's inaugural parade.  More than 1,600 members of the Corps of Cadets will take part.  Governor-elect Ralph Northam is a 1981 graduate of VMI.  The only other VMI alumnus to serve as governor was Westmoreland Davis, who graduated in 1877 and held the office from 1918 to 1922.  The Inaugural Ceremony and Parade will take place on Saturday.

If you're looking to spruce up your home, you can get some ideas at the Greater Roanoke Home and Garden Show.  More than 120 exhibitors will set up with the latest indoor and outdoor home trends.  Mark Bowe of DIY Network's Barnwood Builders will be there.  The show runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. today.  It continues tomorrow and Sunday at the Berglund Center.
