Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

Virginia Western Community College holds an information session about the Community College Access Program.  It provides up to three years of tuition to Roanoke Valley high school graduates who meet requirements of the program.  The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. in Whitman Theater.

Roanoke County holds a community meeting about Explore Park.  The county wants to establish a new Mountain Bike Skills Park, making the park a starting place for families to find adventure in the outdoors.  The plans call for beginner and intermediate trails.  Tonight's session begins at 7 p.m. at the Brambleton Recreation Center.

Goodwill Industries of the Valleys will dedicate its new Discovery Services Sensory Room today.  The new space will benefit those in the Medicaid Waiver Discovery Services program to help them with relaxation.

DePaul Community Resources holds a news conference today in Lynchburg, trying to find homes for children in its network.  Virginia is worst in the nation for kids aging out of the foster care system.  The organization says the opioid epidemic has created a bigger need.

U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia, Rick Mountcastle, holds a community conversation about the opioid epidemic.  The session will include law enforcement updates, personal stories and way to combat the crisis.  The event is free.  It begins at 6 p.m. at Northside High School.
