Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

The founder of a non-profit will be in court today after allegedly texting a nude photo of himself to a local woman.  Shawn Hunter is the founder of the Peacemakers in Roanoke.  He says that he mistakenly sent the photo to the wrong person and immediately tried to apologize.  That person notified police.  Hunter is charged with misdemeanor harassment by computer.  

Total Action for Progress holds its annual Stand Down event for homeless veterans today.  Those attending will can talk to representative about employment, housing services, benefits and health screenings.  It takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center.  A shuttle will provide transportation from several locations in Salem.

A Roanoke man, arrested in connection with a deadly hit and run in Christiansburg, is in court today.  Police say Wedstanley Balisage is charged with involuntary manslaughter, DWI and felony hit and run.  As we've reported, 73 year-old Bobby Handy was killed in May when the 24 year-old suspect hit his car, forcing it into a parked car.  That car then hit a house.

A ribbon-cutting takes place for a Little Free Pantry in Lynchburg today.  The new pantry will be unveiled and stocked at the ceremony this morning.  The pantry is located at Hutcherson Early Learning Center and is the second in the city.  A grant was received to help build five in the community.  

The Roanoke Higher Education Center celebrates the re-opening of the expanded Radford University Clinical Simulation Center today.  The $1.8 million, 6,600 square foot expansion started in May.  The center will now have additional hospital rooms, exam rooms and more to serve and train nursing students at area colleges and universities.  

Jefferson College of Health Sciences holds an online information session today about its Healthcare Management program.  The half hour session will introduce you to the bachelor of science program.  It takes place today at noon.  We have a link to the online session at wsls.com.
