Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

Kroger will make an announcement today about a major donation.  Feeding America Southwest Virginia will benefit.  We reported last month that the food bank is facing a major shortage of donated food and money that's needed to transport the food.

Pilgrim Baptist Church in Roanoke holds an "Increase the Peace" event today.  Religious leaders will speak as a way to get people involved in reducing violence in the community. The meeting begins tonight at 6:30 p.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church.

A team of Liberty University students is expected to return home today.  The team of eight has spend the last week in Puerto Rico, working with the International Disaster Assistance Response Team from Samaritan's Purse, helping in the island recover from Hurricane Maria.

A social takes place today, honoring Vietnam Veterans.  Veterans who serviced in the military from 1955 to 1975 will be honored at the event.  It starts at 7 p.m. at the Vinton War Memorial.

A ground breaking takes place today for the new Wythe County Expo Center.  The 90,000 square foot center will hold livestock shows, flea markets, sporting events and more.  The center is expected to open next fall.
