Here's a look at some of the stories we'll be following today

The Vinton Police Department is asking you to avoid parts of downtown this morning because of a large funeral procession.  Delays are expected between 10 a.m. and noon, affecting Hardy Road, Vineyard Road, Pollard Street and Washington Avenue.  Traffic will not be allowed eastbound onto Washington Avenue, westbound from Vineyard Road or eastbound past Vineyard Road onto Hardy Road.

We will get a look today at a new solar array farm at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center.  The hospital is installing more than 4,100 panels, which will deliver about 17 percent of the medical center's annual energy.  The project is expected to save $1.5 million over the next five years.

The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs take to the ice for the first time this season.  The team will take on the Fayetteville Marksmen.  This is the team's second year.  Tonight's game begins at 7:05 p.m. with tickets starting at $8.

The Christiansburg Aquatic Center holds a community tailgate today before the Virginia Tech Swimming and Diving Sprint Challenge.  There will be food trucks and former football head coach Frank Beamer will make an appearance.  The tailgate starts at 3:30 with the main event starting at 4 p.m.

A registered apprenticeship and workforce summit takes place today in the Roanoke Valley.  Business leaders will learn how to take advantage of the program and the benefits they can receive.
