Body found inside car in Ridgeway identified as missing woman
HENRY COUNTY, Va. โ Human remains that were found inside a car that a missing woman was last driving have now been identified, according to the Henry County Sheriffโs Office. A silver Toyota Solara, which deputies say was connected to the investigation into the disappearance of Jeneen Valentine, was found on Nov. 8. Authorities say the car, with Valentineโs body inside, was found over a steep embankment in the 2900 block of Chestnut Knob Road in Ridgeway. The medical examiner in Roanoke identified the remains as Valentine, and says preliminary autopsy results do not suggest foul play or homicide. The crash remains under investigation.
Henry County authorities continue months-long search for missing Ridgeway woman
HENRY COUNTY, Va. โ The Henry County Sheriffโs Office is asking for help finding a woman whoโs been missing for nearly four months. Jeneen Lavita Valentine, 58, of Ridgeway, was last seen on July 3, 2020. Through the course of the investigation, the Sheriffโs Office discovered that Valentine was last seen visiting an acquaintance at a residence located on Philpott Highway in Martinsville on the evening of July 3. Due to the circumstances surrounding her disappearance, the Sheriffโs Office said itโs unknown if she may have been involved in a vehicle accident or is a victim of foul play. Members of Congress launched an investigation of Fort Hood in September after Sgt. Elder Fernandes was found dead on Aug. 25 hanging from a tree in Temple, Texas, months after reporting sexual harassment. A Fort Hood officer went with his wife to their apartment during one altercation after Buxton called for help. A Fort Hood spokesperson said they had no information on this allegation. โHow many more must die at Fort Hood for them to be held accountable?โ Lupe Guillen said.
