BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. – A construction worker is in the hospital after being hit by a car while working on Route 220 Thursday evening.
State police say the worker is conscious and alert.
Police say the two-vehicle crash happened just before 4:30 p.m. near Chatham Road, a few miles south of Iron Gate.
Both directions of US 220 were temporarily closed the crash near Chatham Road.
The crash remains under investigation.
