Galax man arrested for vandalism goes before grand jury
CARROLL COUNTY (WSLS 10) - A Galax man, charged with vandalizing a furniture factory, will go before a grand jury Monday.
In February, Corey Dean Hodges, 25, was charged with breaking and entering and felony destruction of property following an incident at Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Company's main factory.
Workers at the Galax plant found spray equipment sabotaged and chemicals contaminated. Police say there were damaged tanks that store stains, paints and lacquers.
Early police reports showed the vandalism caused more than $100,000 in damage. The incident also forced the plant to shut down for a week.
Investigators say Hodges was a former employee. He will appear in Carroll County Circuit Court.
