(KARE) Quite the sight Thursday at Spring Lake Park High School. The school's football and soccer field overtaken by water with pockets of air lifting the turf.

Spring Lake Park High School Athletic Director Matt St. Martin says he's never seen anything like it.

Soccer matches scheduled for Thursday night had to be postponed.

At Erik's Bike Shop in Maple Grove, fans were churning away to dry the store out.

On Wednesday night, workers were doing everything they could to keep the water away as water seeped into the store.

"It's the first time I've seen it in seven years like this," said the store's owner.

Many cars across the metro ran into trouble Wednesday night, proving no match for mother nature.
