Stop 5: Henry County

Friday's dinner honored about 325 volunteers

AXTON, Va. – Friday's stop on the Virginia Proud Weather Tour had Jeff Haniewich in Henry County at the Henry County Fire/EMS Appreciation Dinner.

On the Henry County Department of Public Safety's website, the phrase "Get Through 72" appears big and bold.

"That is directing our citizens and everybody, actually, hopefully, to get through the first 72 hours of a disaster. If you were to be without power, or without phones, stranded because a river is up, or whatever,  you should be able to get through 72 hours of self-reliance at home," said Henry County Director of Public Safety Matt Tatum.

Friday night's dinner honored about 325 volunteers.

Monday's stop will take Jeff to Montgomery County and the Montgomery County Regional Training Center.
