Multiple counties experience Wednesday night tornado warning

Some areas saw hail

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – Multiple parts of the WSLS 10 viewing area were under a tornado warning on Wednesday night.

At different times between 8 and 9:30 p.m., parts of Appomattox, Charlotte, Campbell and Halifax counties were under the warning.

The National Weather Service says there were reports of hail as big as a half-dollar in Halifax County.

One reason that there aren't more damage reports is because the areas affected are very rural.

The National Weather Service is reporting that a house near Appomattox was struck by lightning.

In and around the Concord area, there were also reports of hail.
