ROANOKE, Va. – It will be feeling more like late March than late December on this last day of the work week before the extended Christmas weekend. Clouds will go on the increase after a sunny start Friday with temperatures pushing 60 degrees later in the afternoon.
The chance for a few showers move in later Friday evening, but the best chance for widespread rain slides in later Saturday afternoon, evening. We'll dry things out by Christmas Eve and stay dry through the middle of next week, with the exception of a few flakes, mainly on the western slopes.
The core of an Arctic air mass looks like it is going to stay north of our area, but it will still turn much colder bu Christmas Day. Highs will hover right around 40 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
