Cold start to Monday; Snow chances return Tuesday

Big warm-up by the weekend

ROANOKE, VA. – Another work week, another chilly start! Temperatures later this afternoon only top out in the middle 30s. By Tuesday, a clipper system will bring us the opportunity to pick up light accumulations of snow.

Clouds increase through the day on Tuesday to make way for light snow late Tuesday afternoon and especially the evening. Light snow looks to continue into Wednesday morning. The snow quickly moves out of the region later in the morning as the winds pick up through the afternoon and into Thursday.

A coating to an inch of snow will be possible across the Roanoke Valley with 1-2 inches possible for the Highlands and Southside.

Friday will start a warming trend back to the 50s with 60s possible by the second half of the weekend.
