ROANOKE, Va. – A few spotty rain showers will be around for the Monday evening commute.
The rain will become more widespread and intense overnight and into Tuesday morning.

This is also when freezing rain will be possible for locations along and north of the 460 corridor.
As a result, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 10 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Ice accumulations of less than 0.1" will be possible mainly on elevated surfaces, such as bridges and overpasses.
You may encounter slick spots on sidewalks and side streets, but the main roads should be fine.
Any freezing rain that does develop will change to a cold rain Tuesday morning.
Another batch of heavy rain will push into the area just in time for the Tuesday evening commute.
