More than 2,400 without power after severe storms move through Southwest Virginia

SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA – Over 2,500 Virginians are in the dark Monday morning after severe storms swept through Southwest Virginia.

According to the Appalachian Power, as of 9:45 a.m., Carroll and Grayson counties each still have more than 300 customers without power.

Many areas should see power restored later today, but crews are still assessing some areas.

At the peak, more than 7,000 people were without power.
