ROANOKE, Va. – We have one more day of warmth before the weather changes in a big way! Thursday’s high temperatures reach the 60s in the mountains and low to mid 70s elsewhere.

The wind will pick up out of the southwest ahead of a cold front. This cold front first triggers some scattered showers that move from west to east between 5 and 11 p.m.
The sky clears overnight, as the wind turns gusty out of the west.

Otherwise, make sure you bundle up Friday morning. The wind chill will drop into the teens in the mountains and 20s in most other locations.
While the wind may die down a bit by the evening, it will be very cold at high school football games. Temperatures will be in the 30s throughout the game. Make sure you have the jacket, hats, gloves, blanket and some cash for hot chocolate!
We start in the 20s Saturday morning. Clouds and afternoon temperatures increase during the weekend.
Showers move in Sunday night into Monday with our next cold front. Behind that one, a surge of colder air rides in on strong wind gusts Tuesday of next week. Highs will only be in the 30s and 40s depending on your elevation.
As the air shifts out of the southwest, temperatures will rise a bit by Thanksgiving. Our first look at Thanksgiving shows temperatures in the 50s to near 60° during the afternoon with most rain holding off.
