ROANOKE, Va. – Most of us are dry this morning, but we are tracking some shower activity in Southside.

The bulk of the rain stays south of the area today, but we’ll keep the small chance for rain in the forecast.

Scattered showers are most likely in Southside, and we can’t rule out an isolated shower in the Roanoke Valley, New River Valley and Lynchburg.

Once the rain stops, we have a fighting chance for some peeks of sunshine this afternoon.

We also get a brief warm-up this afternoon! Our highs today will be more typical of late March than late January.

The dry and mild weather doesn’t last for very long as we’ll be cooler and more active starting Tuesday.

We’ll have the chance for rain and/or snow Tuesday and Wednesday, then a chilly rain Thursday.

A cold front later this week will clear out our skies, but also cause a drop in temperatures.

We’re looking at highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s by Saturday.
