Roanoke, VA – Sunday Evening Update
Tonight we will continue with a dry pattern and increasing cloud cover, however it will not be to long before rainfall returns to the area.
Mother’s Day will be dry for the most part, with a few very isolated showers possible in the Southside and southern portions of the NRV. The rest of the viewing area will be dry with a few clouds.
Early Monday morning will begin widespread showers across the region, but this is good news. Our drought monitor has many of us included in the moderate drought status.
The amount of rain that we are looking to receive from Monday through Wednesday would certainly put a dent in this drought, but may bring flooding concerns. This is something we will have to keep an eye on over the next few days.
This is the total projected rain accumulation through Wednesday at 4PM.
