ROANOKE, VA. – We will start off cool and dry on this Tuesday, but by evening commute time, a few flakes may be flying.
Highs this afternoon ahead of a clipper system climb back to around 40 degrees before things turn wintry later tonight.

The chance for light snow stays with us to start Wednesday before it gradually wraps up from west to east early in the afternoon.
Most of us will see a coating to an inch of snow, but in the Highlands and across Southside, 1-3” of snow will be possible.
The winds also crank up, especially Wednesday afternoon and Thursday as this system departs. If you’re rooting for warmth, hang on for the weekend. Temperatures top could make a run for the 60s.
