Turning less humid behind Cindy's remnants

Temperatures cool off into next week

ROANOKE, Va. – If you went to bed early Friday night, you missed Cindy's visit to Southwest Virginia. Fortunately for us, as expected, her stay was short and very uneventful.

That was a different story just to the west of us a 3-5 inches of rain caused flooding.

A cold front merging with Cindy last intensified the heavy rain through the Tennessee River Valley and Great Lakes states. That front helped to kick what was left of Cindy out of our area very quickly. Behind that cold front, drier air was pouring into the region.

While the sun will still help temperatures get back into the upper 80s Saturday afternoon, the comfort level will go up as the humidity gradually decreases during the day.

Cooler air will be reinforced as the work week beings Monday.
