Stop 12: Giles County

Jeff visits the Giles Rescue Squad

GILES COUNTY, Va. – Stop 12 on the Virginia Proud Weather Tour took Jeff Haniewich to Giles County.

The rescue squad has 40 volunteers serving about 1,800 calls a year. Some of those calls are for incidents at the Cascades.

Capt. Bill Davis advises those who hike the Cascades to enjoy the sights but stay away from the rocks.

Training Sgt. Chris Thorton explained to Jeff some of the different training exercises the rescue squad uses.

Stop 13 will take Jeff Haniewich to Rockbridge County.
