Crews responded to fire at Hollins Transfer Station

At 8:11am, Roanoke Fire-EMS was dispatched to the 1000 block of Hollins Rd NE for a fire. Units arrived to find light smoke coming from a rail car filled with trash. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is accidental. (Roanoke Fire-EMS)
ROANOKE, Va. – Crews responded to a fire in a rail car at Hollins Transfer Station on Thursday morning.
According to Roanoke Fire-EMS, units were on the scene around 8:15 a.m. and found light smoke coming from a rail car filled with trash.
