Southwest Roanoke house fire leaves four adults displaced, several cats dead

ROANOKE, Va. – UPDATE

Several cats were found dead after a house fire in Southwest Roanoke Wednesday evening, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS.

Crews were responding to the 1400 block of Salem Ave SW around 5 p.m. for the house fire.

Luckily, no one was hurt in the fire, but several cats were found dead, crews said.

We’re told four adults are now displaced and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to Roanoke Fire-EMS. There was no update on the extent or cost of damages.
