One hospitalized after Salem structure fire

The fire is under investigation by the Salem Fire Marshal’s Office, officials say

One person was hospitalized after a structure fire in Salem Wednesday evening, according to the Salem Fire & EMS Department.

Firefighters said crews responded to the fire at around 7:22 p.m., at 1006 Tennessee Street.

We’re told crews discovered a box truck parked inside the warehouse was on fire.

According to officials, crews were able to bring the fire under control in 12 minutes, and kept the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.

One person was taken to LewisGale Medical Center due to possible smoke inhalation.

The fire remains under investigation by the Salem Fire Marshal’s Office, and there is no damage estimate at this time.
