Students at Liberty University prepare for President Trump to speak at graduation

Thousands expected to earn degrees

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Saturday is graduation day at Liberty University.

Stacey Wilson, a master's student who took her classes online, came all the way from Fort Hood, Texas, for graduation.

She'll be getting her master's in Human Services Counseling and Executive Leadership, one of the top five online graduate majors for the university. She's also looking forward to hearing the keynote address from President Donald Trump.

"I'm sure he will have some nice things to say for the graduates. It is a great honor, really, it is history. Who would've ever imagined a president will be here for a graduation 2017?" Wilson said.

Graduates and their families from out of town were able to learn more about what Lynchburg has to offer during their visit to the graduation check-in.

"We are providing directions throughout town, restaurant suggestions, hotel suggestions," said Jason Witt, Lynchburg Visitor Center manager.

Witt said the center makes every opportunity to partner with local college, especially during one of the busiest graduation weekends.

Trump is expected to make his speech to the graduates at 10:30 a.m. and the ceremony ending about 11 a.m.

WSLS 10 will broadcast the entire ceremony live, both on-air and online.
