Six swastikas found in Roanoke

Police investigate separate instances of vandalism

ROANOKE, Va. ā€“ An investigation into separate reports of swastikas painted or drawn on property in Roanoke is underway. There were six different swastikas found Friday.

Police donā€™t believe any of the property owners were targeted.

Police said there were two reported incidents. One happened Thursday when a woman called saying she found a swastika on her mailbox in the 4500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue Northeast.

An officer there found similar vandalism at four other addresses.

The second call came a few hours later. A swastika was on a recycling bin in the 4400 block of the same street.
