ROANOKE (WSLS 10) - The Roanoke Arts Commission says they're seeking up to 10 artists to exhibit in the third "Art in Roanoke".

The event is a temporary sculpture exhibition running May 16, 2015 through Nov. 15, 2016 in Elmwood Park.

Officials say past AIR projects have spread art across the city, but all artwork for this project will be placed along the Art Walk in Elmwood Park.

To tie in with the urban yet natural location, the theme of the show is 'The Natural City.'

The Roanoke Arts Commission says they will be accepting applications through Feb. 6.  The application and instructions along with photos and drawings of the site can be viewed at www.roanokeva.gov/artsandculture under "current calls to artists."

They say artists chosen to participate will receive a stipend of up to $4,500 per selected artwork. In addition, one artist will receive a $1,000 Best in Show award. Voting will take place Memorial Day Weekend during Festival in the Park.
