LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Miller-Motte Technical College Criminal Justice instructors are preparing for a mock crime scene event for students at the school.Â
Criminal Justice students will be given limited information about the scene and will play the following roles:
Recommended Videos
- witnesses who need to complete written statements
- police officers as first responders
- criminal investigative division members
- crime scene investigators
The scene will be roped off and worked just like a real crime scene - gathering evidence, scale diagrams, photographs, and other investigative tools.Â
Students and staff will have a cookout and discuss the incident afterward - as well as networking with local police agencies that have been invited.
The training will happen Saturday, May 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the college, 1101 Creekside Lane in Lynchburg.Â
