LYNCHBURG (WSLS 10) - Miller-Motte Technical College Criminal Justice instructors are preparing for a mock crime scene event for students at the school.
Criminal Justice students will be given limited information about the scene and will play the following roles:
Recommended Videos
witnesses who need to complete written statements
police officers as first responders
criminal investigative division members
crime scene investigators
The scene will be roped off and worked just like a real crime scene - gathering evidence, scale diagrams, photographs, and other investigative tools.
Students and staff will have a cookout and discuss the incident afterward - as well as networking with local police agencies that have been invited.
The training will happen Saturday, May 30 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the college, 1101 Creekside Lane in Lynchburg.
