Franklin Co. HS JROTC Marksmanship team celebrates 5th nationally ranked year

ROCKY MOUNT (WSLS 10) - Franklin County High School's Air Force JROTC Marksmanship team is in its 5th year of competition and being nationally ranked. 

In 2014, three members qualified for Sporter Teams and one for a Precision team for the United States Air Force Nationals. The regional round will be held February 13-15 at Camp Perry Ohio, one of the digital Olympic Training Ranges. The team will enter 20 shooters into the national competition. 

In 2013, the team won 2 National Titles and broke 4 national records. They were ranked in the national top 10 out of over 8000 teams. In total, the team has won 5 national titles and broken 21 national records. 

Several team members are also being recruited for Division 1 NCAA teams.
