Robertson welcoming another stacked field

Premier junior golf tournament returns to Roanoke

ROANOKE, Va. –  The thirty-fourth annual Scott Robertson Memorial junior golf tournament tees off next Thursday.

The tournament is once again stacked with talent. There will be four returning champions this year including Austin Eckroat from 2015 and two-time defending champ Emilia Migliaccio.

"We've garnered a reputation among the junior golf world and it's a good one. People want to be a part of this event and that's why we've received almost 400 applications for only 170 spots for this years event," says tournament director Debbie Ferguson.

"The kids are getting better. We try to do the same thing every year and we add a few things. Tweak a few things here and there but it's all about the kids," explains boys field adminstrator Mack McClung.

The premier junior tournament in the nation runs from May 19th to the 21st at Roanoke Country Club.
