Lauren Helkowski joined WSLS 10’s digital team in August 2022, but has held a passion for storytelling long before.
A Northern Virginia native, she discovered a love for the Southwest and Central Virginia area and is proud to work with 10 News to cover all that it has to offer.
Lauren is a recent graduate of Virginia Tech. She received a B.A. in communication in the spring of 2022, majoring in multimedia journalism.
In her time at Virginia Tech, Lauren worked as a copy editor for The Bugle, the university’s yearbook. She also interned for Fauquier County Public Schools, working to create engaging content and highlight positive stories occurring in the schools.
When she’s not working, Lauren loves to spend time with friends, go on hikes, discover new recipes, and explore the area.
