Tickets go on sale starting today for the upcoming Performance Season at the Jefferson Center. This year's line up includes some new acts as well as some who have performed in the Star City before. Single performance and season tickets go on sale at 10 a.m.
A groundbreaking ceremony takes place today for LewisGale's new standalone emergency room. A sign-the-beam ceremony will be held this morning at the construction site at the corner of Route 419 and Ogden Road.

The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors will get an update on the Collision Reporting Center. The center opened in September to allow motorists to report accidents to the center instead of having to wait for an officer. Since opening, the center has helped 1,583 motorists with 822 collisions. The center says that it has saved officers 253 hours. The board will also consider giving itself a raise. If approved, supervisors will get $609.88 more, bringing their total pay to $18,035.08.
Leaders in Danville will hold a news conference today to talk about Interstate 785. A Future I-785 sign will be revealed. Those signs are being restored on U.S. 29 from U.S. 58 to the North Carolina line. The highway will run to Greensboro.
The U.S. Forest Service will give a presentation and hear comments about a restoration project at the Jefferson National Forest. The restoration effort will provide a fire-adapted ecosystem and reduces the wildfire risk. A presentation will be given at 5:30 p.m. with a discussion after at the forest service office in Blacksburg. Another presentation takes place in Roanoke on Wednesday.
