ROANOKE, Va. – The Rescue Mission of Roanoke is looking for more volunteers to help meet the rising demand of people in need.
They said they need volunteers specifically during lunchtime, between the hours of 11 a.m to 1:30 p.m., but those hours are flexible.
They’re also looking for volunteer donation sorters at their stores.
Another position they’re hoping to fill is a Spanish language interpreter during the hours of the Mission’s Manna Food Pantry.
“We serve a large percentage of the homeless population here in Roanoke, so there is a bit of a bang for your buck or bang for your time in terms of coming here to volunteer because you know you are impacting a large percentage of that population here at the Rescue Mission,” said Kevin Berry, Director of Marketing and Communications.
