DANVILLE, Va. – A Sovah Health veteran nurse in Danville has received one of the nation’s top honors.
Hazel Lewis, RN, was recently recognized with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses, a national recognition celebrating nurses who go above and beyond to provide compassionate, high-quality care.

Lewis, who serves in inpatient rehabilitation, was nominated by a patient for her ability to combine clinical expertise and heartfelt compassion.
“Her job is more than a shift to get through, but rather it is a ministry to care for patients to heal,” the patient shared.
