ROANOKE, Va. – A sweet tradition is making its way back to the Star City! On Thursday, more than 50 volunteers will roll up their sleeves for a baking marathon, whipping up thousands of homemade shortcakes for Community School’s 46th Annual Strawberry Festival.
In just one day, these bakers are expected to make more than 10,000 shortcakes, each one made with real butter, locally milled flour, and fresh Homestead Creamery milk.
