ROANOKE, Va. – April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, and organizers associated with child abuse prevention are using pinwheels to bring attention to the issue.
This is part of the 2026 campaign “Pinwheels of Possibility.”
Janette Craghead, a child abuse prevention director, said, “I think it just brings the community together. It shows children and families out here, it’s not just one person, it takes a village, and there’s a lot of organizations, agencies out here that collaborate to help make things happen.”
Collectively, the pinwheels represent a bigger picture of the happy life all children can have.,
