The Society of St. Andrew (SoSA) is a national nonprofit headquartered in Big Island, Virginia, within Bedford County. Founded in 1979, SoSA is dedicated to reducing food waste and alleviating hunger by rescuing surplus produce and distributing it to those in need. Through programs like the Gleaning Network, Potato Project, and Harvest of Hope, SoSA mobilizes volunteers to collect and share fresh, nutritious food with communities across the United States. This video clip shows Bedford's first ever "Potato Drop/Potato Party" where folks were invited to come get a free 10lb bag of potatoes!
