Last stop of the Games for me this year! You know he’s a keeper when you do a 127 mile ride together (after listening to me complain about the pace being too hard, the wind being 1mph too fast, the ground being too flat, so on so on) and then he agrees to do Cascades that evening with you since it’s on the scavenger hunt list. Unfortunately I was 3 items short of finishing the whole list (excluding state parks) but I’ll take it for attempting the Scavenger Hunt and the Biking categories on top of day job and 20 hour training weeks for cycling. A bit too ambitious but it’s in my nature and glad I tried. I’ve actually ridden by most places on the Scavenger Hunt list but I got a lot out of actually being able to stop, slow down, and actually look at the locations. Thanks for push for the August exploration! Until next year!
Another place I don’t usually stop because I’m on the bike (this is making me realize I don’t do anything besides ride bikes?) but wow was it worth it. Yummy dinner with friends (I had sandwich and they had pizza) at the lodge and we will definitely be back. Nice outdoor seating for puppies too!
Finally actually stopped here? Usually riding by and don’t really pay attention but this was so pretty to actually look at. And had Patty and Stella with me too 🐶
This is the peak of my athleticism. Embarrassing. Finally got some friends to join me on the scavenge though
Thanks Blue Ridge Games for letting me share my ride photos somewhere other than Strava😂. I graduated VT last year and after finding cycling in college, decided to look for my engineering job local to the blue ridge mountains since I knew I had to stay here after falling in love with the sport and now can’t imagine my life without riding and racing. If anyone needs any suggestions on where to ride… my brain is just a map at this point and I could talk nonstop about what this area has to offer. Thanks for creating the Games as a way to share where to explore in the mountains! I saw lots of new places which surprised me!
More Huckleberry coffee rides with the VT women’s team! Love these girls and am so proud of how far they are coming with their skills and confidence. They make me feel old though lolll
Not on the challenge (again lol) but Blacksburg road is a must-ride. Literally my bread and butter, think I easily spend 10 hours a week on Blacksburg road. Gorgeous chilly morning base miles
Specifically called out this section of parkway in another post so had to share pic from a ride with my boyfriend yesterday. Big day rolling from Blacksburg through Floyd, Hillsville, then back through Indian Valley to home!
4 miles from my co-op house! Missed it here Don’t think I correctly picked location/category on initial upload. Duplicate to ensure I receive credit
Visiting trails at Douthat - I did my co-op in college in Covington so felt like I was back on home trails! Don’t think I correctly picked location/category on initial upload. Duplicate to ensure I receive credit
Beautiful evening working on some basic skills with ramps and balance at the Blacksburg skills park on my gravel bike! Last Bike destination of the scavenger hunt for me, very happy to wrap up the games in my town of residence, loved exploring the most beautiful place in the state!
