Final destination of the Blue Ridge Games! Thank you WSLS for putting this together- we hiked over 70 miles this month!! Shout out to my amazing husband and last year’s champ, xeddyb, for doing this with me and to SidemanDan for keeping things interesting!
Always a beautiful view at McAfee Knob! This was our first stop of the day before continuing on to Tinker Cliffs. Hiking between the two was a new portion of the AT for me, and so enjoyable ☺️

Final hike of our Peaks of Otter trip was Sharp Top. Spent the first hour of the morning listening to the peaceful sound of rain from our tent, then headed up the mountain right from the campground once the rain stopped. No views, but a great hike either way. Did you know there used to be a fee to access the very top?!
Hike #2 of our Peaks of Otter trip was Apple Orchard Falls. Another first for me, the falls were super cool!
Spent the weekend camping at Peaks of Otter to hike and enjoy some of the best Virginia’s Blue Ridge has to offer. First trail of the trip was Flat Top. We went the shorter, steeper way up from the picnic area and got to catch a great ranger program about the Polly Woods Ordinary when we finished!
Relaxing hike up to Stiles Falls. The water was so refreshing on this warm sunny afternoon!
Hiked up to Devils Marbleyard this morning. Last time I did this hike I didn’t use trekking poles and twisted my ankle so many times it was swollen for the rest of the summer 😂 the Marbleyard is sweet, but definitely bring your trekking poles!
First time hiking to Angels Rest. Unfortunately it was cloudy but got in a great workout nonetheless and got to check out the cool town of Pearisburg!
Finally hiked up to Dragons Tooth today!
Couldn’t have asked for a better day to hike up to Cascade Falls!
Fun but challenging hike around the Bottom Creek Gorge preserve. Love living so close to all these gorgeous places to get outside! It’s hard to see, but there’s a waterfall behind me 😄
