The jury at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival has pushed back on political questions as the festival kicked off, seeking instead to shift the focus to the tough selection of the best movie, with 20 titles from around the globe competing for the top prize, the Golden Bear.

LOS ANGELES โ Lupita Nyong'o has written a stirring tribute to her late โBlack Panther" co-star Chadwick Boseman, calling him a man whose power will โreverberate for generations." She says Boseman โcared so much about humanity, about Black people, about his peopleโ and that "his power lives on and will reverberate for generations to come." Nyongo's words follow similar tributes in recent days from โBlack Pantherโ director Ryan Coogler and co-star Michael B. Jordan. Jordan wrote directly to Boseman, saying, โEverything youโve given the world โฆ the legends and heroes that youโve shown us we are โฆ will live on forever. But the thing that hurts the most is that I now understand how much of a legend and hero YOU are.โ
