President Donald Trump's administration has started requiring parents seeking to reunite with their children who crossed into the U.S. alone to attend interviews with immigration officers.

Two advocacy groups for migrants have filed a federal lawsuit asking the courts to halt new Trump Administration vetting procedures for reuniting children who crossed into the U.S. without their parents.

Getty Images(CNN) - A federal judge in California strongly indicated that she's likely to block the Trump administration's proposal to detain undocumented families together indefinitely. US District Judge Dolly Gee shared a tentative ruling with plaintiffs and defendants that provided a window into her decision prior to Friday's hearing. Under what is known as the Flores settlement, the government is required to release a minor from a non-licensed facility as expeditiously as possible, which has been set at 20 days. The judge put the ruling on hold until the regulation was finalized, which occurred in August. The visits were negotiated with CBP because the team was monitoring government compliance with the Flores settlement.
