Two close associates of the fugitive Jalisco New Generation boss known as “El Mencho” have been brought to justice in a U.S. courtroom as the Trump administration ramps up pressure on the cartel it recently designated a foreign terrorist organization.

The Trump administration has imposed economic sanctions on three Mexican nationals and two Mexico-based entities involved in a drug trafficking and fuel theft network that's linked to Mexico’s Jalisco New Generation Cartel.
