People watch as the SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket lifts off from launch pad 39A at NASAs Kennedy Space Center on April 11, 2019, in Titusville, Florida.
SpaceX just shared some footage from a successful attempt to recapture part of a rocket's nose cone after it plunged into the ocean.
"Friction heats up particles in the atmosphere, which appear bright blue in the video," SpaceX said in a tweet that included the video.
The fairing rests on the top of the rocket, and it acts as a shield for satellites that SpaceX launches for its customers.
After most rocket launches, the fairing halves are left to plummet back to Earth, where the ocean becomes their graveyard.
