A hot and humid end to the week – MD 🔥
A warm front pushes through our area today bringing plenty of warm air from the southwest to Virginia. That heat will pair with sunshine to take high temperatures into the low-to-mid 90s for most of us. This is a preview of summer temperatures about a month before summer starts. These highs are about 10 degrees above average for this time of year.
Highs will stay in the low-to-mid 90s into Saturday. The sun will still be out in the morning but added moisture in the afternoon has a better chance to turn into showers and storms. All that warm air works as fuel for storms so any that do form will be strong. Stay weather aware late Saturday afternoon into the evening.
SUNDAY AND MONDAY
Our weather pattern changes Sunday with a cold front coming towards the East Coast. There will still be plenty of warm, humid air for that front to pick up and turn into showers and storms. Those will last through most of the day. Highs will be close to 90 on Sunday, but the colder air from the front will arrive Monday to take highs back into the 70s. Expect widespread showers through Monday.
TUESDAY TO WEDNESDAY
Another system develops to our south on Tuesday. Highs will be below average at that point, but another warm front moves through our area on Wednesday with some extra showers and storms. The cold front follows on Thursday bringing some more showers and cooler air for the end of the week.
