Nearing record highs Monday afternoon - CM 😎
MONDAY
Summer warmth continues into Monday afternoon. We’ll be nearing records with afternoon highs around 82 to 88. There’s plenty of sun too, so make sure you have sunscreen if you’re going to be out for a long time.
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY
A storm system that’s been responsible for severe weather in the Plains will weaken as it drifts north and east. It’ll team up with our warmth and humidity to bring us the chance for hit or miss showers/storms Tuesday evening.
Some may linger Wednesday afternoon east of the Roanoke Valley. Our severe weather threat is going to be low. Highs each day range between about 78 and 84.
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
Another ridge of high pressure promotes warmer and drier weather throughout the end of the week. Expect highs in the 80s both Thursday and Friday.
THE WEEKEND
Another weaker system brings the chance for a few hit-or-miss showers and storms Saturday, bringing highs down into the 70s.
Sunday may still feature a few showers, but that all depends on the strength of the system once it enters the Eastern U.S.
In any case, the weekend doesn’t look like a total waste just yet. Check back for updates.
