64-year-old man killed in Campbell County crash

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. – A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Campbell County early Wednesday, according to Virginia State Police.

We’re told the crash occurred at 12:45 a.m. on Gladys Road.

Police said a 1999 Ford Ranger, driven by 64-year-old Michael Hudgins of Altavista, was heading westbound on Gladys Road when the Ranger went off the right side of the road, overcorrected, then again went off the right side of the road, and struck an embankment and a tree.

Hudgins died at the scene, according to authorities. The crash remains under investigation.
