Four arrested in connection with Pulaski County murder

A man’s body was recovered from the New River, recovery effort for woman underway, authorities say

PULASKI COUNTY, Va. – The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said they have arrested four people after a man’s body was found in the New River in Pulaski County on Jan. 14.

Major Johnson told 10 News that two fishermen found the man in the New River on Jan. 14. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the body was recovered in the 4000 block of Clark’s Ferry Road in the Delton area.

Authorities said the man has also now been identified as 52-year-old Johnny Thomas of Pulaski, whose cause of death was homicide by gunshot wounds.

We’re told that evidence shows that Thomas was with his girlfriend, Jamie Frazier, 25 of Dublin, on Dec. 14, 2022, which was the last date of contact for both of them.

After investigating further, authorities said they learned the two were murdered by 52-year-old Mark Weiss.

The Sheriff’s Office said Weiss was arrested and has been charged with the following:

  • Two felony warrants for second-degree murder
  • One felony warrant for possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon
  • Two felony warrants for use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • One felony warrant for arson of personal property over $1000 in value
  • Two felony warrants for concealing a dead body
  • One warrant for felony destruction of evidence.

Three other people were also arrested in connection with the incident, authorities said.

Below you can see each person arrested along with their charges, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

  • 36-year-old Ashley Edwards of Draper was arrested for:
    • Two felony warrants for accessory to murder after the fact,
    • One warrant for felony destruction of evidence.
  • 57-year-old Terrence Edwards of Draper was arrested for:
    • Two felony warrants for accessory to murder after the fact,
    • One felony warrant for arson of personal property over $1000 in value,
    • One warrant for felony destruction of evidence.
  • 18-year-old Nolan Neil of Draper was arrested for:
    • Two felony warrants for concealing a dead body,
    • Two felony warrants for accessory to murder after the fact,
    • One warrant for felony destruction of evidence,
    • One felony warrant for arson of personal property over $1000 in value.

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation is ongoing and asked that you keep the family of the victim in your thoughts.

Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office says a male body was pulled from the New River in Pulaski County on Saturday.

They say it happened in the 4000 block of Clarks Ferry Road in the Delton area.

The body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Officer in Roanoke, according to authorities.

Pulaski County deputies say this is an ongoing investigation.
