Altavista Walmart given all clear after suspicious package found

ALTAVISTA (WSLS 10) - Police officers in Altavista have cleared the scene after a suspicious package was found at the Walmart.

Officers cleared the scene shortly after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, a few hours after the Walmart and several surrounding stores were evacuated as a precaution.

A post on the Altavista Police Department's Facebook page says employees and customers can return.
