Have a Starbucks gift card? This Lynchburg coffee shop will trade you for one of its own

LYNCHBURG, Va. – A Lynchburg coffee shop is brewing a special program to promote local business and roast a well-known competitor.

Mission House Coffee started a gift card swap that runs through January 31.

If you go to either location with your Starbucks gift card, the coffee shop will exchange it for one of their own.

The Starbucks gift card can be partially used and needs to be worth at least $5, but at most, $100.

“You’re going to hand them your card. They’re going to verify that it is a valid card. If you have one digital, that’s fine as well. We just need the card number and pin number. Then, as soon as we verify it, we’re going to hand you a Mission House Card of equal value that you can use immediately or save for the future,” said Mission House Coffee Tommy Clark.

Clark expects his business to lose about $150,000 in revenue because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
